| Ellis
This is a commissioned portrait of one of the founders of Muddy Vesture, Ellis Glover. Ellis and Laurie worked closely on the elements to be included in the painting to make it more of a statement about the subject's life rather than a strict rendering or likeness. Botticelli's Venus, John Lennon, William Shakespeare, and Bob Dylan are featured as principal influences in Ellis' artistic life. Phrases such as "Not a Dark Ride," "Dance Beneath the Diamond Sky," "Quintessence of Dust," and "Imagine" combine to reflect his personal philosophy. The painting is dated in Roman numerals, MMV, which work nicely to include the initials of Muddy Vesture. Naturally, Westminster School and symbols relating to it are prominently featured. In September, Ellis begins his thirtieth year of service to Westminster. He is deeply indebted to Laurie for her artistry, passion, and exacting standard of excellence in the creation of this portrait. Download Fullsize Image |

Artwork by Susan Glazier
| Muddy Vesture encourages each person to exercise creativity as a means of self-discovery and personal growth, and to share the fruits of those creative efforts with others as a gesture of love and encouragement. During the past several months, Susan Glazier has been training herself to draw by creating her own interpretations of photographs or other works of art. Susan plans to begin painting in oils soon. |
